Sailing Holidays in Holland

Looking for an holiday with a difference ? Then why not try a sailing holiday aboard a clipper in Holland. See the following

1. Korevaer – A clipper built in 1911 in Woubrugge, which originally transported parcels and loads between the Zealand islands and the Rotterdam harbour – view sailing holiday.

2. The Aldebaran was built in 1893 in Geertruidenberg as a two-mast river clipper. The ship transported freight in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium until 1940 – view sailing holiday.

3. The ship De Luciana was built in 1916 in the Netherlands as a herring boat without engine. In 1928 the ship was sold to Sweden and sailed until well in the Seventies as a freight ship in the Scandinavian waters – view sailing holiday.

4. In winter the Catherina is moored in the Veerhaven in the heart of Rotterdam, at a stone’s throw of the water taxi to hotel “New York” – view sailing holiday .

Dinghy Sailing For Beginners

Hi.
I have just taken up dinghy sailing and am very much still a novice. In the future though I am planning to buy my own boat. Can you recommend a boat that I can handle on my own but, will also be suitable (when I’m ready) to take my wife and two young sons out on. I will be looking for a used boat from about a thousand pounds upto two thousand. Another consideration is my height, I’m six four. Any suggestions will be most welcome. Also can you recommend a a good training boat for me, the club Toppers are just too small.

I have nic 26 and she does sail like a dream. Can anyone tell me what the mast height is and also her handicapp (sorry if spelling is wrong). Would that be the same as the contessa 26?

Bailers for Enterprise dinghy

We recently bought an Enterprise built by Bell Woodworking sail number 8000 + and it has vertical conical self balers about 25mm diametre, does anyone out there no how these work, there seems to be no working parts? It is possible that these are damaged or have something missing, so does anyone know if are they still available and if so where ?
