Vega 18 trailer sailer
Hi
I have a vega 18 trailer sailer which is fibreglass and i have a problem with the swing keel, it seems to slap from side to side in the keel box. I have been unable to get any drawings or information regarding the layout of the keel and I would be very grateful for any information you can give.

Hi there, I am not familiar with this particular boat but my experience of swing keel boats is that there is inevitably play in the keel, it isn’t a problem when under load and probably isn’t something you need to worry about.
If you were to somehow pack out the keel so that it didn’t rattle then it would be difficult to raise and lower.
