Enterprise Dinghy – fitting rollocks.

Can anyone help? I recently bought an all-wooden Enterprise, and although I’ll be mostly sailing her, I’d like, if possible, to take the children fishing from time to time. Is it possible to fit rowlocks to an Enterprise, and if so, where should they be positioned? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Todd

    Hi Todd

I have seen this down before. I believe there is a website detailing Enterprise dinghy modifications but I cannot find it at the moment. Try doin a search in Google.

rowlocks should be mounted 13 inches aft of rowing position
    i have done this
you make holes in the deck – scary
you screw bits of wood (with holes pre-drilled.
    under the holes.
you screw the rowlock mounts through the deck into the
    bits of wood below.
you might want to put a metal reinforcing plate on top – brass looks nice
but i have rowed the s*~@ out of it and the rowlocks have been totally reliable,
enterprises row beautifully on a river
