Dinghy Sailing For Beginners

Hi.
I have just taken up dinghy sailing and am very much still a novice. In the future though I am planning to buy my own boat. Can you recommend a boat that I can handle on my own but, will also be suitable (when I’m ready) to take my wife and two young sons out on. I will be looking for a used boat from about a thousand pounds upto two thousand. Another consideration is my height, I’m six four. Any suggestions will be most welcome. Also can you recommend a a good training boat for me, the club Toppers are just too small.
